“A most interesting point of view”,   ” A good point to ponder !”   or ” an interesting point to ponder”.

All phrases of an  “discussion “  with management on the way , full of mis-truths ,misunderstandings.   You might as well say to the author of these stock phrases -  Why not just send me a memo ( now a blackberry text message)  and tell me what has been decided already ?  Why get me upset , and pretend that I/or we have some input when don’t in any way or manner.

It must be on page x of the management handbook or in an article read on the airplane that the management clone / fool is now an expert of  but in reality understands litle of the basic concept and concepts in any manner what so ever.

The amazing part of it all that they really think that they “are so smart”  when in actuality they are complete morons in any manner.

The difference is that they have the hangman’s hand on the pull switch which gives them apparent power.  It has been said after the First World War by a journalist on the origin of war and wars that they occur  when ” politicians have journalists write lies ( and the wars occur)  when the politicians begin to believe those lies”.

The same can be said of management , its great power and powers in itself and ultimately in its own correctness.  Why not ponder those points yourself.  Look in the mirror .  “An interesting point to ponder”  yourself

An open letter to our elected officials:

Reference: The Wall Street Bailout (Otherwise known as: The Economic Stabilization Bill)

I strongly urge you to vote AGAINST any additional measures to bail-out Wall Street, financial and mortgage firms.

As a citizen who pays a lot of attention to politics and votes every time an opportunity presents itself, I also spend a lot of time talking with friends, associates, clients, and anyone who is willing to listen, and I espouse a strong conservative and libertarian point of view. I will make a very determined and pointed effort to share my perspective with anyone that is willing to listen. I will also identify those politicians who exercised good judgment and voted AGAINST any and all measures designed to bailout these firms. I will make a very determined effort to expose those who vote FOR such bailouts.

I am a well educated professional with an MBA in Corporate Finance and Investments, and am also someone who spent many years in the corporate world and am now a small business owner as well as home-owner; I am a strong supporter of the free market system.

I know that my success as a business owner is completely dependent on my ability to keep my business solvent and to generate sales and manage my business in a competent fashion.

I also know that I cannot depend on a government bailout, I cannot pay lobbyists and that I cannot make large campaign contributions in an effort to sway my politicians points-of-view.

Any business that makes poor business decisions MUST be accountable to the free market system. Therefore if liabilities exceed assets, these firms MUST be dissolved, forced into bankruptcy or otherwise shuttered. There cannot be any other response.

The strong will survive and the weak will succumb. This is what our free market system should be all about. These are the options that I face every day.

I am appalled at the thought of government further entwining itself within the free market system. The democrats, as well as many republicans, set the stage for this financial debacle. Everyone who helped Fannie May and Freddie Mac should be held FULLY accountable. What happened to Sarbanes-Oxley? What happened to regulatory checks and balances?

Where are the investigations and hearings into these individuals and issues? Why are Barney Frank, Maxine Waters, Charles Rangel, Chuck Schumer, Franklin Raines, Chris Dodd, Bill Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and other GUILTY individuals not being put on trial for their criminal actions?

If you have voted AGAINST these bailout measures, I applaud you and further encourage you to stand strong and resist the pressure to succumb to the pressures that will ultimately lead to the elimination of the free market system as we know it.

If you have voted FOR or are considering voting for these measures, I will tell you that the average American citizen is not stupid and naive as many of you would like to believe, and you will be held fully accountable for your ignorant and dangerous pandering to the lobbyists and financial firms.

We are actively participating in this process; we are closely watching your actions. We will reward those who act with prudence and good judgment. Come election time, we will punish harshly those who exercise bad judgment.

Do they think that they are on ?Planet Zoltar? and have ?Mind Control? powers over you like on Star Trek? ?Beam me up Scotty there is no intelligent life here? is certainly the buzzword.
Power is often defined as the capacity to get what you want or the ability to influence others. Ultimately though in life most reasonable people learn that you have very little control and certainly very little control over others.

Yet this powerful urge still persists among many management and supervisor types. The same type of people who beat you up in the sandbox when you were 4 years old are now trying to be in roles of management.

In a recent study on what was termed “E-power? a team of workplace psychologists wanted to see whether having power changed how well people understood the viewpoints of others. The researchers asked volunteers to recall personal incidents where either they had power over others or others had power over them.

Past studies have revealed that such recollections had exactly the same effects as actually placing people in positions of power or limited power. If for example it turned out that regardless of whether people were given power or simply remembered possessing it, they were more likely to assert themselves and take risks all for the better or worse.

77 student volunteers to draw the letter Z on their own foreheads. More than a decade of experiments have shown that people who write the Z in a way that is legible to themselves but backwards to others have not thought or cared about how others might perceive the letter. On the other hand, people who draw the Z backward to them but legible to others have considered another person’s  point of view.

Amazingly it turned out that the study subjects who believed that they possessed ?recollected power? were almost four to six times as likely to draw their letter Z in a way that was backwards to others than those who recollected an experience of limited powers and abilities.

Thus it terms out when people or in your case management or supervisory staff have power they go on to make your life more than miserable.

Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

However can be empathy in the management role? Is this possible in the real world?

Highly unlikely. After extensive research in controlled settings it turns out that those who had these imaginary perceived power abilities were less able to judge emotions rather than having greater abilities. This is the opposite of what you would think.

After all great time, energy, training and life skills go into the choice and training of ?management and supervisory? staff. You would think that if anything these carefully chosen individuals since they are involved in the ?management and motivation of their staff? would be at the extreme end of human emotion perceptual judgment skills.

It is true in the end. You were not hallucinating or imagining it. Your boss is more than clueless. He is also most likely the type to say ” I have learned the gold rule”. “The rules are golden and they are My RULES’. How original. The mentality of a 2 year old.
